Bouclé is a fabric with a very rough texture. The material gets its name from French and it roughly translates as “loop”. This is because the surface of bouclé is characterised by loops and knots in the various threads. The uneven surface gives the fabric an impressive appearance and makes it very low maintenance, both during processing and in the final product, because it does not crease. Little sewing flaws can also be easily concealed in this fabric thanks to its irregular texture and colour. Bouclé is excellent for a lovely autumn coat or an elegant short jacket, and the fabric is also fantastic for skirts and dresses. Be inspired and try your first bouclé garment!
