Flower Fabric Sewing

Description

This beautiful fabric flower is a real eye-catcher and will beautify your home wonderfully! Not only as a wall decoration, but also sewn onto a cushion, the fabric flower really comes into its own! The fabric flower is simply sewn from felt, so that no edges need to be serged and the flower is sure to succeed! We've put together easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions so that you can sew the flower yourself. Have fun sewing it!

Preparation

Preparation

Cut the necessary pieces for the petals: size 1, 2 and 3. You don’t have to double your felt. This is quite thick and will be adjusted with scissors later if necessary. With felt, we don’t need to pay attention to the straight grain or direction of the grain. Mark the sewing-point on the pattern pieces. The flower is sewn with a zig-zag stitch and a stitch width of 0.6 cm.

Sew

Place the first petal about 0.5 cm one on top of the other at the bottom edge and place it on the cir-cle so that the widest part of the folded sheet is on the outer edge of the circle. Glue it all together. Pin the petal to hold it in place. The seams are not sewn.

Please bring your sewing thread. Always sew the petal in the front and then the back for a few centimetres. Use a hand sewing needle to pull the thread from the front to the back and tie the upper and lower threads together. The back will not be seen afterwards. The flower will be more beautiful and tidy.

The first petal (size 1) must be sewn with a zig-zag stitch. Fold the felt and sew directly on the circle.

Sew

Place the second petal next to the already sewn petal and sew it as described in the pre-vious step. Be careful to follow the circle when sewing your petals (do not sew them parallel). Repeat this step until the entire outer edge of the circle is filled.

For the inner circle, the petals (Size 2) will be sewn offset from the petals sewn in the above step. We advise you to pin your petals to hold them in place. Make sure that the widest part of the petal hides the underlying seam.

You are going to sew 2 inner circles with the petals of size 2. Now sew an inner circle with the petals of size 3.
