What does this mean for you? You're still able to find all your favourite fabrics and craft supplies at myfabrics.co.uk, and at first glance a lot of things might look the same, but don't be fooled! We've made some big changes on our end to make your shopping experience that much better.
What should you be aware of?
Shopping Cart empty?
Did you have some items saved in your cart? Unfortunately, you’re not able to retrieve them anymore. In the lead up to the shop update we gave everyone the option of ordering the current contents of their shopping cart (or moving the items to their Wishlist) via our website and our email newsletter. We apologise if the information didn’t reach you.
You'll need to log back in
Everyone will need to log back in to their customer accounts after the 26th of April for data protection reasons, even those who save their password in their browser. If you've forgotten your password after April 26th you can still use the 'forgot password' option at login to receive a password reset email from us.
Please note! Registration for the newsletter is not the same as registration. If you previously were only registered for our newsletter and not with a customer account, you won't be sent an email to reset your password.
The fabrics will be temporarily unavailable
Due to some technical issues regarding the migration, the fabric table won't be immediately available to you after we make the switch. We should be able to offer you this feature again in a few months. Thank you for your patience!
What is going to change?
Our new shop has several technical improvements that aren’t visible from the outside. We’ve also made some changes to the visual experience of navigating our shop. We hope this will make the experience of browsing our online fabric selection a little more pleasant. Check out some of these new features below:
Improved filters & search functionality
Finding the perfect fabric and supplies has never been so easy. You might have noticed navigating our website via your smartphone that the space for search results is smaller than desirable. We've fixed that! Our new search function and filter options make it really easy to find the exact product you're looking for.
Colour options
In the product overview page you're now able to directly view whether or not an article comes in a number of different colours. The colour variants are displayed as little circles beneath the main product image. Click on the little plus sign under the main photo to see the different variations of a product in a popup form, x-out if you want to go back to your search results, or click on a specific colour to go directly to that products page.
Adding discount codes
After April 26th you can add your discount codes directly in the cart page to see your discount, rather than having to proceed through several steps of the checkout process.
Just add your discount code under the yellow 'Checkout' button and the adjusted prices will immediately be displayed.
Registration isn't always necessary
Previously we required that you create a customer account for any and all transactions. Now you can check on your order status without having to register first.
You can also request an email status update for out-of-stock products without creating a customer account now - if your product is out of stock just click the 'Notify Me' button and enter your email address - you'll get an email from us the minute your product is available to purchase again.
